  • When was Sagamore built? The first homes in Sagamore were built in 1997.
  • Who was the builder? Bentley Homes owned by Tom Bentley
  • What layouts are there? There were six models that were built: Andover and Coventry have the wooden steps up the front of the home and two car garages; Fairmont is the end unit with one car garage; Eaton, Dartmouth, and Beaumont are middle units with one car garage.
  • Is landscaping included in the HOA fee? Yes. Mowing of grass, general spring / fall cleanups, mulching, care and replacement of trees / shrubs is all included.
  • What should I know about the Board of Directors? The Board of Directors of an Association is responsible for protecting, maintaining and enhancing the community.  The CC&Rs and Bylaws in a homeowners association will detail the responsibilities of the Board. In general though, an HOA board can also:
    • Adopt and change Rules and Regulations to protect the homeowners
    • Employ a property manager
    • Set the amount of HOA fees each year
  • How do I become a Board member? There are five Board members at Sagamore. The term of office is two years. Elections happen every year at the April Annual Meeting.  One year three members are elected and the following year the two others are elected. Every year a candidate form is sent to every homeowner. Every homeowner in good standing may nominate themselves for office. 
  • If I want to alter or expand my deck, what do I need to do? You must have sketches drawn up, with a list of materials, and the contractor's name and submit this information with an Architectural Change Request. No changes can be made until the ACR is approved. Deck alterations / expansions require a Township permit.
  • What does the HOA fee cover? The monthly fee covers lawn care, landscaping, street and driveway seal coating, replacements of roofs and siding however repairs to roof and siding are the homeowner's responsibility.
  • What is the Common Area? The common area at Sagamore is any land outside the footprint of your home. This is shared property with all members of the HOA.
